Pink Steel

Lamberti Design developed the Pink Steel finish to give a copper pink like coloration to steel instead of using the usual painting options. This finish gives more appeal to a traditionally silver color metal. Carbon steel, commonly known as “Steel”, is an iron-carbon alloy, where the carbon content must not exceed 2%. Steel shows an opaque appearance and is susceptible to corrosion, therefore mechanical and chemical cleaning operations are necessary and preliminary steps that can significantly influence the final surface quality. In addition, the preparation itself can speed up and “standardize” the quality of the final products. Lamberti Design has developed a process that involves a chemical surface reaction, which produces a result in a few hours. A protective clear coat is finally applied. The final objects show a pink finish with black, gray, yellow and green veins, which can slightly modify their colors and darken over time. This finish is for indoor applications. If applied outdoor the exposure to the atmospheric agents could cause chromatic variations and may produce some rust. The environmental conditions, the geometry and the shape of the products, combined with the artisanal processes, make the final pieces unique; in fact, any chromatic variations on the final objects compared to photos and samples received, are intrinsic characteristics of the process and not manufacturing defects.

Care and cleaning instructions of metals
Liquids can stain any metal surfaces; therefore, we recommend cleaning with a soft slightly damp cloth, and then following using a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive materials, aggressive detergents, acetone, solvents and alcohol to clean metal surfaces.
