Antique Brass

The Antique Brass finish by Lamberti Design has been developed to give an older aspect to brass, thanks to the presence of different colored veins. Brass is a copper-zinc alloy; it shows a good resistance to corrosion, and is able to form different types of superficial oxides, which tend to darken over time. Based on these considerations, Lamberti Design has developed a process to obtain an antique brass look with pink, golden, green, white and black veins that can slightly modify their colors with time.

The Antique Brass finish is the result of several oxidation reactions involving different metal elements, including copper (pink) and zinc oxide (white). Mechanical and chemical cleaning steps can significantly influence the final quality surface. In addition, the preparation itself can speed up and “standardize” the quality of the final products. The aging process by Lamberti Design involves a chemical surface reaction with a very slow kinetics, and it takes several days to have the final product. At the end, a protective clear coat is applied. This finish is for indoor applications. The environmental conditions, the geometry and the shape of the products, combined with the artisanal processes, make the final pieces unique; in fact, any chromatic variations on the final object compared to photos and samples received, are intrinsic characteristics of the process and not manufacturing defects.

Care and cleaning instructions of metals
Liquids can stain any metal surfaces; therefore, we recommend cleaning with a soft slightly damp cloth, and then following using a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive materials, aggressive detergents, acetone, solvents and alcohol.
