A company specializing in artisanal metalwork for outdoor, garden, and terrace furnishings, Lamberti Design created a glass balustrade for the historic Villa Ciano, located on the island of Capri at the top of Castiglione. The balustrade was made of tempered, laminated, and extra-clear glass to ensure it does not block the panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples. The client chose small AISI 316 stainless steel posts, fixed to the floor at specific points, and fully cantilevered glass. The balustrade spans approximately 50 linear meters and features holes in some areas for the attachment of a saltwater-resistant AISI 316 stainless steel tubular handrail. After a survey with Lamberti Design technicians, the project was engineered and each balustrade piece was prepared at our facility in Cava De’ Tirreni. The glass and steel accessories, then carefully packaged, were transported to the villa and installed by the assembly workers in five days.
