Cloudy Stainless

The Cloudy Stainless finish by Lamberti Design gives a more opaque finish to satin stainless, compared to the brushed one. The difference is due to the brushing processes: multidirectional in the first case and unidirectional in the second one. The Stainless Steel, also known in Italy as Inox, is an iron-carbon alloy that shows good resistance to oxidation and its corrosion. This is mainly due to the presence of chromium (between 12-18%) able to form an invisible layer that protects the metal from further oxidation. The Cloudy Stainless finish is the result of artisanal processes using abrasive papers and pads. Inspections and controls are carried out to guarantee and “standardize” the quality of the final products. This finish is both for indoor and outdoor applications. The three-digit notation of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) define the different types of Stainless available on the market. In the furniture field, the final products are manufactured using AISI 304, suitable for not corrosive indoor environments. As matter of fact when the manufacts are placed near the sea, swimming pools and/or boats, we suggest using AISI 316. The presence of molybdenum in AISI 316 (absent in AISI 304) ensures a greater resistance to corrosion in more aggressive environments. The environmental conditions, the geometry and the shape of the products, combined with the artisanal processes, make the final pieces unique; in fact, any chromatic variations on the final objects compared to photos and samples received, are intrinsic characteristics of the process and not manufacturing defects.

Care and cleaning instructions of metals
Liquids can stain any metal surfaces, therefore we recommend cleaning with a soft slightly damp cloth with neutral soapsuds, and then following using a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive materials, aggressive detergents, acetone, solvents and alcohol to clean metal surfaces.
