Entrance wrap in corten steel
For the entrance of the exclusive Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel Anantara, located along the Amalfi Coast, Lamberti Design manufactured a scenic entrance portal in corten steel, which harmoniously integrates with the historical place and landscape.
The walls of the entrance are wrapped with corten metal sheets, applied on a custom-made load-bearing metal substructure. The result is a sober but imponent architectural element, which welcomes guests with elegance and expressive force, while enhancing the authentic charm of the historic building.
The close collaboration with the construction company Tanimi, which commissioned the work, was fundamental. The shared attention to detail allowed for the connections between the portal and the architectural surfaces of the facade to be precisely finished, ensuring integration and long-lasting connection.
This work is an example of how corten, a resistant and “living “metal, can be used outdoors to give character, warmth and an organic feeling to the architectural surfaces. Its earthy tones, in continuous progress, recall the landscape colors and the artisanal workmanship of the territory, helping to visually tell the story and the identity of a unique place like Amalfi.
